Born in 1993 in Elim, Limpopo, Tivane Ernest Mabulele is a rising South African visual artist celebrated for his vivid acrylic and charcoal compositions. Now based at the renowned August House in Johannesburg, Mabulele’s work is rooted in his deep connection to community and the lived experiences of those around him. 

Inspired by the resilience he witnesses in everyday encounters, his art reflects the complex interplay between struggle, transformation, and hope. He has participated in group exhibitions, art auctions, and has received multiple competition nominations, steadily building his presence in the contemporary art scene. 

About the Artwork
Mabulele’s current series, Becoming, explores themes of transformation, awakening, and fulfillment. Using a vibrant acrylic palette layered with the subtle depth of charcoal, his work portrays the human journey through adversity toward renewal. Butterflies often feature in his compositions, symbolizing personal and collective evolution. Mabulele’s paintings are more than visual statements—they are meditations on growth, resilience, and the quiet strength within us all.
