About the
Artwork
Working primarily in oil on canvas, Ndlovu blends gestural
brushwork with refined detail to create evocative figurative
compositions. His portraits—often situated against abstract,
textured backgrounds—probe themes of migration, displacement, and
belonging. Through layered light and shadow, he captures
vulnerability, introspection, and strength. Ndlovu’s work bridges
personal narrative with collective experience, inviting viewers to
contemplate identity and memory in an ever-changing world. His
paintings are poetic meditations on resilience and what it means to
be human.
