Nicky Morris is a self-taught artist living on a farm outside of Springbok in the Northern Cape. Nicky paints mainly in acrylics, producing landscapes, portraits and wildlife.
“I love spending time in nature, drinking in the sounds, smells, textures and shifting colours. While exploring I find myself captivated by layers of emotions including curiosity, wonder, joy and awe. These long periods in the veld open your eyes to the true essence of life and teach you to see the beauty, not only in the soft, green growth that appears after unexpected rain, but also in the blackened skeleton of a parched bush during times of drought.
I use my painting as yet another language to express my appreciation for that which I see and experience. I find it deeply fulfilling and exciting to capture atmosphere, impressions and emotions with brush and colour.”
