Khaya Ngcangca born in Port Elizabeth is a self thought visual artist, he works with different mediums. He started working with acrylic paints and oil pastels depicting an everyday life of ordinary South African’s particularly black people. He took part in a number of exhibitions in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and NAF Grahamstown. He currently lives and work as an artist in Gqeberha using fabric as his medium capturing mood of children and women.

My work is inspired by people, people have always been my subject and people are the ones who make and tell the story. In my work I focus on the issues that the people of South Africa in their day to day life. I use fabric as my medium when I create my work. I focus mostly on light and mood because light brings life into my work and the mood tells the story.
